Samsung releases kernel source code for Galaxy Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4
Samsung is the best in the Android segment when it comes to software updates. The company releases security updates quickly and often. It is also among the first to release stable versions of major Android operating system updates to its smartphones. The company is now going a step further and releasing the kernel source code for its new foldable phones.
The South Korean firm has released kernel source code for the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. Now it will be easier for developers to develop custom ROMs for these foldable phones. Some regular application developers can also take advantage of kernel source code to improve their applications. If you are a developer, you can download the kernel source code for Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 from Samsung’s open source website.
The people from XDA Developers note that kernel source code is only available for unlocked versions of Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. Since carrier locked versions of phones usually come with OEM unlock option disabled, it will be difficult to unlock these phones. and use kernel source code and flash custom ROMs.
