Fire ravages 3 computer labs at Tanzania Institute of Marine Sciences
Three computer labs at the Zanzibar Institute of Marine Sciences in Tanzania were destroyed by fire on Saturday morning, an official said.

Adam Mwakalukwa, the administrative head of the institute, said the fire destroyed three computer labs.
“We have not established the losses caused by the fire but the loss is huge,” Mwakalukwa said, adding that experts are assessing to establish the extent of the losses caused by the fire.
He said among the items destroyed were computers and living marine animals used to teach students.
Rashid Mzee Abdallah, the commander of the Zanzibar Fire and Rescue Force, said firefighters managed to contain the blaze before it caused devastating consequences, adding that the blaze broke out in the region. morning.
Abdallah said the fire may have been caused by a faulty circuit breaker, adding that investigations are underway to establish the true cause of the blaze.
The Institute of Ocean Sciences was established in 1978 with the mandate to conduct research and provide graduate and undergraduate training and advisory services in all aspects of marine science.
