Clover is better than Tinder, apparently – Here’s why…
A relatively new dating app, Clover, has higher overall user ratings than Tinder. But is Clover really better than Tinder?
Dating apps. There are so many choices these days. Tinder is still the most popular by a considerable margin. But if you look at user reviews for Tinder and Clover, you’ll notice something interesting: Clover has higher ratings in the Apple App Store.
From its sleek interface to its fresh take on interactions with other Clover users, this dating app attempts to merge aspects of social media platforms like Facebook and Twitch and elements of more traditional dating apps found on the Internet. interior. POF, Tinder and Match. It’s a heady mix of features, but it seems to work.
What is Clover?
Clover is a dating app. But unlike apps like Tinder, Clover has more social elements — elements borrowed from popular social media platforms like Instagram, Twitch, and Facebook. You can “go live” on Clover, earn tokens that can be exchanged for cash, join group chats, as well as play games like 20 Questions. It’s a dating app, yes, but it’s also a social media app.
At the heart of Clover, or what separates it from apps like Tinder, is its setup process. Clover wants to know EXACTLY what you’re looking for, what your interests are, if you smoke, and what you like to do. Do you like art, going out to bars, going to concerts? All of this helps build your profile and make you more findable. You must also submit at least one photo of yourself as well.
Clover Login and Profile – How it Works
Clover will ask you for your age, body type and the type of person and type of relationship you are looking for. This is done so that you can find like-minded people who share your own aspirations, rather than connecting you with someone who is looking for something completely different. It can get weirdly specific, but as most serial daters know, specificity is the name of the game.
With the login process, you can use your Facebook ID or your Snapchat ID. If you don’t have any of these, you can use your Apple or Google account login. This means your Clover profile doesn’t need to be linked to your social media profile like Tinder does. This is great from a privacy perspective. Clover doesn’t have a desktop version of its dating app though – it’s 100% an app.
Find matches on Clover
As with Tinder and a bunch of other dating apps, you can browse user profiles on Clover. If you see someone you like, you can click on their profile and learn more about them, see what interests them, likes and dislikes. You can also quickly check the type of relationship they are looking for as well – it could be a fling, marriage or a serious relationship.
What’s really kind of cool, though, is that when you click on a user’s profile and look at their interests, Clover will show OTHER profiles that share similar interests, so you can find even more potential matches. according to these specific interests. This granular approach to browsing makes it possible to quickly find MANY people with specific interests in a short amount of time.
Like OK Cupid and eHarmony, you can also answer a series of 20 questions. Once you have done this, you can then compare your answers to other users on the platform. The goal is to see whether or not you share similar thoughts and opinions on things. The questions range from quite vague – Are you messy or tidy? – to extremely specific – Mac or PC? – and are a great tool to quickly see how your personality stacks up against a potential match.
And if you have trouble breaking the ice, or like to take a carpet bomb approach to contacting people, you can use a set of pre-written icebreakers provided by Clover. I honestly wouldn’t use them – some are downright awful – and it’s always better to be yourself on a dating app. If you want to succeed, everything will depend on your personality and your communication skills, so there is no need to cheat from the start. Keep your feet on the ground.
Planning and organization of dates
Clover has put date planning at the heart of its app. In your profile, you can list all your dates (by date), see what dates you have coming up, and even access an entire tab to browse potential and available dates – these are the people who want to go on dates. And, of course, Clover integrates plenty of COVID-friendly dating tools.
For example, if you live in an area with high COVID rates, or if you still haven’t been naturally exposed to the virus, you can, instead of going to physical appointments, join mixers at inside Clover or meet via video chat (although this feature is limited to premium members only). And there are loads of blender forums inside Clover, ranging from coffee lovers to fine wines and even ones based on popular TV shows.
What does Clover Premium include?
A premium Clover subscription costs $19.99 for one week, $74.99 for three months, and $119.99 for one year which is quite expensive. But you get a free trial week. And most of Clover works without a premium subscription anyway, so success on the platform isn’t essential. Here’s what a Clover Premium Membership includes:
- Ability to include photos and multimedia in messages
- Advanced filter options
- Free Weekly Profile Boosts
- Removal of advertisements
- Ability to see who likes you
- Video chat
- Broadcast features (essentially Instagram Live)
Do you need a premium Clover subscription? I would say no, not if you are just there to get dates and browse profiles. You can do A LOT on Clover with a free profile, more than enough to get dates and start meeting people, so the only real reason to go for a premium membership would be to access things like video calling and Clover’s broadcast features. If you’re not worried about those things, stick with the free version.
Is Clover better than Tinder?
All in all, it’s pretty easy to see why Clover now consistently gets higher user ratings than Tinder. The app does a LOT more and has a lot more built-in features. Clover is also much more specific in how it creates matches – it’s based on looks, yes, but also on interests and that’s an important distinction, especially if you’re looking for a serious relationship.
If you’re bored of Tinder, I highly recommend checking out Clover. It has great user ratings (higher than Tinder) and it’s packed with really useful features and methods for finding potential matches and dates. Add to that the fact that Clover is now very popular and you are looking at one of the best dating apps for iPhone and Android on the market.
